Running With Rex

Evie and Sam shared this amazing win over the festive period and show what working with an affiliate trainer and then putting the homework into place can help you achieve. We love to see dogs getting to fulfil their needs in a way both they and their people find fun!

As some of you may know Rex has recently been on a board & train with Hannah. This morning we had a huge win that I just had to share. 4 months ago Sam ran a trail run in the peaks, I went with him, with Rex, thinking it would be a nice opportunity for some socialisation/peaks walk. It was not. Rex was SO overstimulated, overreacting on lead and when Sam left he lost his mind. I think I cried in a field and prayed he’d be back soon.

This morning we went to Clumber Park for their annual Christmas 10km. Rex was like a different dog, he handled it so well. Able to take snacks at the busy start line with lots of people and barking dogs. He coped with Sam & my sister running off ahead and me, Rex & mum going to the back for some space. We ran one 5km loop, took the time to pause and reconnect when we needed to. Had a coffee and wander round at the end. We passed so many dogs and people and he was brilliant, engaged and focused, able to check in with me.

I am so proud of him & so thankful for this amazing community and the incredible Hannah Clarke. The progress Rex has made has been absolutely life changing for us all and we are so excited for what is to come!
