The Honest Hounds Big Camping Weekend 🏕️ [LIMITED SPACES]

We’re so excited to bring you our first-ever Honest Hounds Camping Weekend. This will be a weekend of hanging out, getting to know the community more and a safe space for you and your dog to enjoy hanging out, making memories and continuing to work on your goals.

Expect a jam-packed choose your own adventure weekend featuring social walks and workshops amongst some chilled out camping vibes. Our affiliates have planned some fun workshops based on what they see the community needing most, so it’s a brilliant opportunity to come together, connect, have fun and enjoy the (hopefully!) dry summer nights.

All workshops and walks will be optional, so you can dive into as much or as little as you’d like to, making it an awesome choose-your-own-adventure for you and your dog. You’re welcome to attend as many workshops as you’d like, however we ask that you bring one dog to each session so everyone has space to participate comfortably.

This will be open first to those who have done in-person work with us or our affiliates to ensure we can set the whole group up for success.

The Schedule

We have planned a jam-packed weekend of social walks, workshops and chill time, dip into as much, or as little as you want and share a camping experience with like-minded people for a weekend of good times!

Friday

3.00 pm, Check-in and Getting Settled
Arrive, pitch up, take a breath and get comfortable.

4.00 – 5.30 pm, Social Walk
A gentle, structured walk to help everyone and their dogs settle into the space.

5.30 – 6.30 pm, Building Confidence
Confidence building is so underrated, so this is one for every dog. Join Alex as he shows you how to build resilience and confidence in all dogs. We’ll utilise novel objects and the natural environment to help every dog take a step towards feeling a little more ‘proofed’ in the world.

6.30 – 9.00 pm, BBQ and Beers
Bring a BBQ, burgers or whatever you fancy, plus a drink of your choice, alcoholic or not, and join us in the communal camp space. This part is human-only, so we can properly connect, and your dogs can get some chill time in the tents. We’ll chat, get to know one another and play a few relaxed icebreaker games.

Saturday

9.00 – 11.00 am, Social Walk

11.00 am – 12.00 pm, Shifting a Stranger Danger Mindset
Does your dog get spooky vibes, nervous energy or just ‘that’s a bit weird’ around humans? Bring them along to this session with Kym to learn how to hack their mindset and move them from apprehension to anticipation for humans they don’t know!

12.00 – 1.00 pm, Chill Time
Rest, eat, nap, decompress, whatever you and your dog need.

1.00 – 2.00 pm, Play the Right Way
There is so much nuance in getting play right, and often we miss the cues our dogs are showing us. So if your dog ‘doesn’t play,’ won’t stick to the rules, doesn’t bring things back or is even a little too enthusiastic, join Gill as she shows you the best ways to get the most from your dogs, to build play drive and to add in impulse control so you can both get the most from your sessions!

2.00 – 3.30 pm, Social Walk

3.30 – 4.30 pm, Reverse Psychology: Making it Their Idea
Jess W is the wizard of making it the dog’s idea to change their mindset around handling, harnesses, muzzles, or anything else that has become a bit weird. In this session, she will share some of her top tips, troubleshooting and show you how to gamify anything that has become a bit sticky or weird with your dog.

4.30 – 5.30 pm, Fake It Till You Find It, Building Confidence With Your Dog
Join Jessie for a session with your dog where we unpick the big feelings that can come with working with our dogs, utilise some small breathing techniques, and think about how we can practice with our own dogs (and others) to take home a little more confidence and positivity.

5.30 – 6.30 pm, Chill Time
Rest, eat, nap, decompress, whatever you and your dog need.

6.30 – 9.00 pm, Dinner & Connecting
Bring some food you’d like to eat, cook, eat, connect and reflect on the day together in the communal space, without your dogs.

Sunday

8.00 – 9.30 am, Social Walk

9.30 - 10.15 am - Follow-Along Massage with Sean
Sean will be leading a chilled sit in the grass and follow-along massage session to cover some simple stretches and massage 101 that you can do with your dog. Come along, relax and get some skills to take home to bring about zen mode with your dog.

9.30 – 11.30 am, Pack Down and Leave Site

12.00 – 3.00 pm, Optional Adventure Walk
For anyone who wants to finish the weekend with one final walk together.

Dogs On Site

  • Dogs must be kept on a lead when moving around the campsite.

  • If your dog has shown any reactivity, they must also wear a secure, well-fitting muzzle when moving around the campsite and when taking part in Social Walks or organised activities.

  • Dogs may be tethered on a short lead outside your tent, provided there is adequate space between tents and clear room for others to pass safely.

  • There are cows and sheep in the neighbouring field, so dogs must be fully under control at all times around livestock.

  • It is important that dogs are able to settle overnight & when alone in the day, so that everyone can enjoy the weekend. We understand that a new environment can feel different for some dogs, but persistent or excessive barking, particularly during quiet hours, can be disruptive in a shared campsite setting. If a dog is unable to settle and this continues to impact other attendees, we may need to ask you to leave the event early without refund.
