Anna & Beau Handle The Fireworks Like a Pro.

Anna & Beau joined Honest Hounds nearly a year ago after working through our Partnership Project (which is free for all members). They’ve seen huge growth and strengthening in their relationship, which has allowed them both to feel less stressed and enjoy their time together. Anna shared a big win about Fireworks, which we thought was great at this time of year!

As we head into what is normally our worst part of the year, I’ve never felt more prepared. We’ve had some fireworks already this week & although Beau definitely clocked them, she just reshuffled on her bed, reset herself, let out a huge sigh & just went straight back to sleep. I didn’t move an inch, just quietly sat & waited to see what she’d do. To say I was mind blown is an understatement.

A lot of our local displays are happening this Saturday so we’ve got a great plan already in place for the daylight hours then we’ll be at home, as normal in the evening. We’re keeping her routine the same & I’m actually quite excited to see how she’ll be rather than being in a state of blind panic awaiting old Beau’s inevitable tucked tail, shaking, panting, trigger stacked for days after.

I feel like we’ve worked so hard this last year to get her to a place of trust & confidence & her reaction recovery time to loud noises is so quick now, more like 30 seconds rather than 3 days. Sending love to anyone with a dog who struggles with the fireworks, we fully see you! 🧡
