Muzzle’s Make Life Better

Dougie and his human Alison joined Honest Hounds in August 2025 and got straight to working on getting Dougie out for neutral walks and muzzle training.
Last week Alison shared this win on our community and we love to see hard work paying off.
3 years of struggle and in just 2 months they’re starting to see positive change.

Long live the muzzle! Inspired by 2 neutral walks, we joined our friend who is a dog walker on a walk yesterday. Dougie was on the lead and muzzled and we walked alongside four very well behaved off lead dogs. At the end of the walk one dog came right over to Dougie. They play bowed and then did a side-by-side sniff greeting. I could not believebit!!! We’ve just not had any kind of positve contact with dogs for over three years! Dougie would have just lunged. It wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t trying to take a more positive attitude to get alongside other dogs with Dougie, changing our attitude to believing he can ultimately change and starting to wear a muzzle. And that wouldn’t have happened if we hadn’t joined Honest Hounds!
